And yes -- there really was an Aunt Lena -- who actually was a Great Aunt to one of the principals. Aunt Lena was born in 1891 and baptized Maddalena or "Lena” for short in a Madonies Mountains 16th century agricultural village in the heart of Sicily. Immigrating to America, Aunt Lena brought her intense love and passion for creating Sicilian pastries for family and friends throughout her 85 years. Aunt Lena’s passion for artisan Italian desserts is celebrated at Aunt Lena’s Creamery daily by its customer’s dessert experience.
